Forget About Golf Shaft Flex and Play Better Golf
David Lake, President and Founder of One Iron Golf, is back in a new video discussing one of our most frequently asked questions, Why don't you offer Shaft Flex options? AND What is shaft flex optimization? If you want to play better golf, watch and learn this valuable information, and never be fooled by Shaft Flex again!
Hi Dave et al!, In my earlier text re. glass shafts,I guess I really should have included graphite! I suppose though that with graphite there is a substantial cost discrepancy! That is quite obvious! But would they(graphite) help in performance for people my age? Again, very happy with my 1irons! I’m just interested,as most golfers,in trying to get better! Thanks again,Michael Keegan

Hi Michael, We do not plan on offering graphite shafts. Due to the inherent high degree of torque in graphite shafts, steel shafts produce a much greater degree of accuracy and overall performance and is the reason that tour players do not play graphite shafted irons.
Our clubs are played by senior men and women into their 90s. I would advise you to make sure you are not swinging with your arms. We have some great videos explaining the proper swing here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwgaQ5uMxoe5BlxOEXueSrMKba-qlW_E3&si=oJgmevN7fpdgt5kQ

Hi Dave, Thank you for the info on steel shafts. It is quite interesting! I doubt if the same rules hold true with fiberglass shafts. If you could enlighten me on specifics on those and why you don’t offer them with your irons. An amateur guess would be that they are too costly!?

Hi!
Nobody offers fiberglass shafts for good reason. They are much poorer quality than graphite shafts and are certainly inferior to steel shafts in irons. Let us know if you have any other questions!

I’m 81, would these clubs help me ? I do ok with woods but not so with irons. I play gold tees 5500-5600 yds score between 80-85.

Hi Frank, Yes, our clubs are game improvement irons. All of our irons are designed to fit you perfectly, custom club length, same lie angle, same swing speed, center ball position etc. we do this to ensure a single, consistent repeatable swing.
Our golf clubs are played by professional golfers and long-drive champions with extremely high swing speeds and played by senior women golfers with very low swing speeds. This balance also greatly reduces any potential vibration of the shaft, and that, coupled with our 1/8” oversized Lamkin grips, virtually eliminates any vibration you would normally experience with steel shafts. It is of note that many of our customers are former graphite shaft players.
We would suggest the Blackstone Irons. Let me know if you have any other questions!
