After hitting the irons at the range the black on the club faces is mostly worn off. Not convinced they are cheap heads just painted. The touch up paint on several shafts was poorly done. Over priced and underwhelming.
Hi Kevin, thank you for reaching out. Just to assure you that you did indeed buy high quality clubs, they are not painted, our Blackstone irons incorporate a black pvd coating which will wear over time. This is quite normal in all brands of clubheads but is virtually invisible on chrome or brushed steel coatings since the underlying steel is the same color as the finish. This wear is typically only on the sole and leading edge and does not compromise the distinct white scoring lines against the black finish on the clubface which is designed for ultimate alignment at address. Bear in mind that this finish wear will be more pronounced if the courses you play are sand based such as in Florida or Texas. You purchased a Used/Demo set at a great discount, so you will see minor wear and tear on that set, similar to a new set after a month of golfing. Having said that, they still perform perfectly and hopefully you will see an improvement in your game soon!
I am almost certain that you sent me irons that are too long and drivers, fairway woods that are too short. Could they have been reversed mistakenly?
Hi Greg, Your measurement was 'Up to 33.9' - you should have received irons that are 36' long and fairway woods that are 40' long - this is the shortest length we build in irons and fairway woods. Please let me know if you are still having any issues. It does take a month or so to get used to playing single-length, you have to change any bad swing habits, etc. I can send you videos and articles to help, please let me know!
My name is Bob Porter. The clubs are mine Brenda just paid for them lol. I am only 5’3” and struggle with long clubs. These clubs make sense so I thought I would try them. I have not been able to play as much as I want. I am still undecided as to whether I like them or not. I like the fact they all play the same. Like I said I have not been able to play as much as I want but so far am disappointed in the distance I am getting with each club. I hope to get out more and have a better review.
Hi Bob! Thanks for taking the time to write a review! Your distance will improve and I want to emphasize that you need to compare the loft angles with the loft angles on your previous set to really judge the distances accurately. Loft numbers in the golf industry are assigned arbitrarily with no consistancy in the loft angles so one manufacturer's 19º could be a 3 or 4 iron, etc. Let us know how it's going!
