Lengthy review:
IRONS
First off I want to say that the irons are super. They feel great, they look sharp, the shaft is good (stiff which I prefer). A few things to note however, generally not a fan on the club offset which is standard for all the irons, the black finish on the shaft is already getting chipped away by being in the golf bag which is not a big deal but certainly a slight concern after about a month of use. My final two comments for the irons are about something else: First it would be amazing if this company had a blade iron in addition to their current offering. I imagine manufacturing wise it may be tricky due to the weight dispersion etc. but if it were done to the same quality as the blackstones, I think they would have an incredible product. Second is a note about playing single length irons from 3 down to LB that I found a bit tricky at times. With GP - LB I found that if you are around the green and are at any sort of an aggressive angle playing a longer club is very difficult, in fact I had to hold the club so far down I was beyond the grip which leads me to believe that saving a single shorter club space in your arsenal (either a SW or a LB) for those awkward hits around the green will improve the set composition as a whole.
3 WOOD:
Good club. Overall my only negative about this club is the rails at the bottom which I could do without and that the design just doesn't quite stack up to the irons or the driver.
Driver:
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the set was this driver. Prior to, I played with an XS shaft and an adjustable angle Taylor made head so changing to a custom One Iron make with a lot more flex and no adjustability was worrying. Once I started swinging it however I was pleasantly surprised. This thing definitely has oomph and is a very good bang for the buck to be honest. A standout!
Overall I would rate this set very good with room for improvement in the future. My intent is to play this out for another year or two before having a much better opinion of the club set as a whole since a month in is a short period.
PS. the iron covers are hilarious, not sure how I feel about them so far as taking them on and off is a bit of a hassle. Also, If found them to fit the 3-7 better than the 8-LB clubs. The distance clips are also a bit unneeded as any player who has done a bit of golf will know the range that they're hitting within a month or so. Plus environmental factors can affect distance so it ultimately may end up misleading.
