NOVA Single Length Hybrid Irons

Designed for the golfer who prefers to sweep the ball from the turf like they do with hybrid woods as opposed to hitting down and through and taking a divot as is the case with typical irons. There are many so-called hybrid irons on the market, but in reality, they are simply regular irons with slightly wider soles that fall far short of providing the ease of play that the term "hybrid" implies. In 2011, David Lake designed the industry's first true line of hybrid irons that combine the playability of a hybrid wood with the inherent accuracy of an iron. Our NOVA Single-Length Hybrid Irons are as easy to play as any hybrids on the market, but unlike hybrid woods, give you the ability to aim at the pin on your approach shots.

NOVA Single Length Hybrid Irons feature the flat club face of an iron, combined with the wide sole of a hybrid wood to produce the low center of gravity and smooth turf glide of a hybrid wood. They are designed for single-length play: same length, weight, lie angle, bounce angle, and sole width throughout the set, and are completely swing-weight and MOI matched. This allows you to use the exact same set-up, swing, and ball position with every iron in your set for the ultimate in ball striking consistency.

Graphite Shafts

NOVA Single-Length Hybrids are shafted with a specialized frequency-balanced, 100% graphite shaft specifically designed to accommodate all swing speeds. The result is a lightweight hybrid iron and wood, custom-fitted for club length, that promotes higher swing speeds and more forgiveness.

Playability of NOVA Single Length Hybrid Irons

Although hybrid woods are typically the easiest-to-play clubs in a player's bag, they incorporate the single flaw of all wood-type clubs: bulge and roll built into the club face. For those not familiar with these terms, they relate to the curvature of the club face from toe to heel and sole to top line. The presence of bulge and roll on a club face makes it impossible to attain any level of distance or accuracy control that you would normally associate with iron play. With a hybrid wood, you aim for the width and depth of a green, whereas with an iron, you aim at the pin.
