Our premier line of irons is without a doubt the most advanced set of single-length irons in the golf industry. Our iron lines are not built for any particular handicap, age, or skill level. Capitalize on precision and accurate shot-making with the Blackstones. Proper clubface alignment at address is everything when it comes to dropping approach shots on the pin. Alignment being off by only 1º or 2º either way means adding an extra 8 to 15 feet to your birdie putt. The Blackstone's bright white scoring lines against the black PVD background make club-face alignment exact and automatic at address. Old-fashioned club numbering has been replaced by the actual loft angles for precise club selection and distance control. With a set of Blackstones, you will find a lot more birdies on the golf course. Check out our Irons page for more details.

  • Custom Built: Custom-built single-length irons fitted based upon your wrist-to-floor measurement. Conforms with the Rules of Golf and built in the USA by Master Club Builders.
  • Shaft: Shafted with our proprietary Black Steel shafts for zero glare and extreme tour performance with shaft flex plane orientation (Spine Align/Puring), and identical shaft flex throughout the set. Our fairway woods are built with a chrome-plated optimized steel shaft. The 1 Iron Dark Horse Driver is Shafted with our exclusive One Iron Golf ultra-light graphite shaft, for maximum transfer of power plus a stunning increase in control and accuracy.
  • Clubhead: Loft angles instead of club numbering for precise distance control with bright white scoring lines for precise clubface alignment at address. State-of-the-art precision face and sole grinding. The deep undercut rear cavity produces a low center of gravity for maximum trajectory and distance with identical swing weight and moment of inertia (MOI) throughout the set.
  • Grips: 1/8" oversize Jumbo+ grips.
  • Finish: Black PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) finish for zero glare at address. PVD finish produces a harder surface for extra ball compression and greater distance. Bright white scoring lines for precise clubface alignment at address.
  • Head covers: All Blackstone Irons come with head covers. Distance clips are included in Blackstone Irons Sets. All woods come with head covers.
  • Experience: Enjoy greater consistency with a custom-built set of single-length irons and woods. Being in business for over 25 years we have perfected single-length play. Ditch convention for common sense.

Custom Fitting Single Length Irons

All human beings share the same skeletal, muscle, tendon, and joint functions and from a mechanical standpoint are the same regardless of height or sex. Non-mechanical differences arise in custom fitting however, for instance: the height of a bicycle seat needs to be greater for a taller person than a shorter person even though the mechanical design of the bicycle remains the same. By the same token, there is only one true fitting variable in the building of golf clubs and that is club length. Based on your wrist-to-floor measurement, we adjust your club length to correspond to our clubheads' lie angle to ensure a proper fitting.

Wrist-to-Floor MeasurementTaking your Wrist-to-Floor Measurement:
  • The wrist-to-floor measurement should be taken while standing on a hard surface.
  • Wear jogging/gym shoes (not golf shoes) not in excess of 1.5" sole.
  • Stand with your back against the wall at strict military attention. Place your shoulders and head against the wall, your feet together, and your arms rigid and straight down at your sides.
  • Hold a pencil in your right hand (right handed golfer). Back your arms against the wall and then take the pencil and make a mark where your left wrist joint hits the wall. Just the opposite for a left-handed golfer.
  • Measure from this mark to the floor.
  • Important: Do not round-up the measurement to the next higher inch increment. For instance, if your measurement is 34 and 7/8″, do not round up to 35″.

One Iron Golf Club Lengths

One Iron Golf Club Lengths - Wrist to Floor Measurements

NOVA and GRIA Hybrid Club Lengths

How to correctly measure your clubs:

Club length is properly measured by placing the golf club in the address position with the scoring lines on the club face parallel to the ground and then measuring directly alongside the shaft from the butt end of the grip to the point where the shaft would intersect the ground if it extended through the heel of the club head.

Very Important:

Do not order based upon what you consider to be your favorite iron (ie: #7 iron), and do not use that corresponding wrist-to-floor measurement when placing your order. When ordering you need to specify your actual wrist-to-floor measurement to ensure a proper fitting. This chart reflects club length based upon our club-head lie angles. Consequently, our fitting process does not apply to any other brand.

For the taller golfer:  based upon your wrist-to-floor measurement you may be concerned that your irons would be a typical #3 or #4 iron club length; however, do not compare your measurement to your current #3 or #4 iron. The lie angles of your “long” irons are much flatter than ours which, at your size, requires you to bend over excessively and reach out for the ball at address. The club head lie angle of our irons is 63.5º which is far more upright and allows you, for the first time, to stand upright and much closer to the ball at address resulting in the ideal upright swing posture and swing plane. The taller golfer benefits the most from our fitting formula since they have never played golf clubs that have even come close to fitting them properly. The result being that they have had to develop a very inefficient posture and swing where they are bent over excessively and reaching way out for the ball with every iron in the bag.

How Does the Wrist-to-Floor Measurement Work?

It is based upon trigonometry. At the point of ball impact in the downswing, your wrist, the ground, and the clubhead, form a right triangle. Assuming an ideal swing posture, there is a non-linear mathematical relationship between your wrist-to-floor measurement while standing at attention and your wrist-to-ground distance at ball impact.

The clubhead lie angles are known for the irons and fairway woods as well as the length of one side of the right triangle based upon your mathematically factored wrist-to-ground distance at impact. This gives us the measurement of two angles and the length of one side. We then use trigonometry to solve for the hypotenuse or club length. This is somewhat oversimplified as we factor in shaft deflection and numerous other factors. The fitting formula that we developed produces the ideal golf club length for anyone regardless of height or arm length.

I’m happy as can be!

So I started playing in the spring of 2021…. I become obsessed with stuff when I get interested. I have had 3 major back surgeries so I wanted same length irons and extra tall clubs because I struggle to bend at the waist or turn my hips. I’m 6’4 and wanted extra long clubs. I stumbled onto 1 Iron and I’m glad I did. I bought the full line of Blackstone, all the wedges, the Driver and putter as ling as I could get them. I’m dropping strokes the more and more I become comfortable the better I’ve become.

May not seem like a lot to more experienced players but I shot a 43 today on 9. I had a terrible first hole and rimmed 3 putts. I realistically could of had a 40. I had a 290yd Drive. I’ve only been playing for 15 months. I’ve had my 1 Irons since Christmas and live in the Midwest so I didn’t start using them until April, three months ago.

I highly recommend!

I play 3-4 times a week and the pic of the clubs is after about 25 rounds.

Blackstone Irons

I've had my Blackstone irons for approximately 3 weeks now and I'm loving my purchase and couldn't be happier. Having the club's custom fit to my wrist to floor measurement has made all of the difference. I've been able to groove my swing and are hitting my irons crisply. The most challenging part has been the wedges, but with practice, each day I get more consistent in hitting them. Thanks David for a great product and I appreciate all of the articles and information you have on the website. I researched and read everything before my purchase and the tips you have provided on your website are extremely valuable. Thanks again.

High-speed player detailed review

I purchased a full set of demo/used Blackstones, 3-LW and took them on vacation with me recently. Some info about me: I’m 6’3 and swing a driver around 112 mph with ball speeds around 160, though I can at times put it out farther when all is clicking. I have been playing Taylormade P790 with X100 Tour Issue shafts the last 3 seasons. Love my 6i and 8i, hate my 5i and 7i and regularly miss the green from easy spots with my PW and 9i thanks to pulled shots. I live in NE WI and the weather in the winter is brutal. I had been planning a full-bag renovation at Club Champion, but thinking about my game and reading about these clubs, it just made too much sense to my engineer brain…but I had some questions. Questions a trip to Aruba would answer over the course of a week of absolutely fascinating golf learning.

Question 1: they are cast…how do they feel?

Question 2: will the shafts hold up to my speed and sometimes violent transition? Would the spin be way too high…especially in constant 20-30+mph winds from the east on coastal links?

Question 3: what would really, really long sand and lob wedges be like?

The reality is that the feel of a shot hit on the screws is very, very pleasant with these clubs. I hit 4 and 5 irons on the button a number of times…after bunting one into the long stuff, pulling a couple and hitting them way shorter than I thought I should a few times. But on hole 6, after a snapped drive into the wind, I sizzled a 4i onto the green from 180 into the gale. I was dumbstruck how good that shot felt; how far it went into the wind and how it was sitting next to the stick when I got up there.

I had absolutely zero trouble with shots ballooning; only a couple short iron shots ran away from me down wind and I could accurately club up or down for what I was facing.

Lastly, after having some really good and really bad results with the 55 and 59, I have come sprinting back to my wedges. I am going to play the 51 for a while because it is so good on full shots, but my vokeys were back in the bag as soon as I got home. Some of it is that I haven’t had time to practice with these and the ball positions you need to play partial shots around the green, but a smaller swing radius makes more sense to me.

I played two rounds and had three range sessions with the wind straight in my face at Tierra Del Sol and have figured out how to hit several different shots with the Blackstones, but mostly they go were you point them…which for a 15.6 that longs for his days under 10, is a miracle.

I’ve built clubs and have done my own shafting, regripping, loft/lie bending etc for friends and family and am a huge believer in spine aligning clubs the way 1irongolf does. It makes a difference.

This is a wonderful concept and is very well executed. My P790s are on the trading block on Golfwrx as I write this. I did notice the black finish come off the shaft of the LW after a massive lash through some underbrush on a downwind par3 where I should have clubbed down a club or two more because of how pure and high I hit it and the rocky terrain left a number of silvery scratches on the soles and leading edges of several of the clubs…things you don’t see with a standard finish…but these things are good…really good.

Thanks for making a unique and outstanding product.

Exceed my expectations!

I have golfed Cobra One Length for 3 seasons and believe in the concept. I wanted to upgrade my set and chose 1 Iron Golf. I bought the whole set, driver, 3 wood and 8 irons. I am 65, golf on average150 rounds of a year and my GHIN average score is 87. I have played with my 1 Irons for 2 weeks and have shot 82, 84, 78, 79, 84 and a 86. That is unreal! The driver and 3 wood go amazingly straight and the biggest surprise is how well I hit the long irons. I have to figure out the distances, hence the 86, but I am sold and would recommend these clubs to anyone. Thrilled in Seattle.

Still getting used to the new clubs. I like the feel. Hitting the irons higher with more accuracy. Ball “jumps” off the fairway woods. I just need to learn not to over swing!

I found that the clear coating finish on the striking surface is peeling back. This will only spread and detract from the nice black finish. Is there anything you can do for me to make this right?

The set as a whole is amazing!

The set as a whole is amazing! I’ve always wanted to try a set that was custom fit to me and all one length. Watching golfers adjust posture for each club, myself included, just seemed to add extra to the process and I found it unnecessary. After getting mine last year I decided a gap wedge was needed so I ordered a 51°. Love it! These are by far the best clubs I’ve ever hit!

These clubs should be illegal! 😜

I’ve recently bought a set of Blackstones and can easily say they are the best clubs I’ve ever owned in my golfing life (almost 50 years). First round back playing after a while and birdied 3 of the 4 par 3’s with almost 2 hole in ones. So close!! Highly recommended 👌🏼

I recently purchased a set of Blackstone one‑length irons from a local golf shop, and even though I bought the demo set, the quality has been nothing short of outstanding. The heads, shafts, and grips all feel solid and well‑built, with the kind of confidence‑inspiring look and feel you expect from a premium set of clubs.
What has impressed me the most is how easy it is to move from one club to the next without having to think about setup changes or make constant adjustments.Because every iron is the same length, my stance, posture, and ball position stay the same, and my swing feels repeatable throughout the bag. The result was almost immediate: my strike consistency improved right away, and my contact now feels much more solid and predictable from club to club.
If you’re curious about single‑length irons or have struggled with consistency, I highly recommend giving these Blackstone clubs a try.

Like new

This set is just what I wanted, I also ordered new wedges to go with them and other than the plastic wrap on the new ones, I could not tell the difference. These hit long, the stiff shafts are sensitive to club face angle, so I am working on that.

New Life

With my new upright swing everything goes straight and my Dark Horse driver out hits my $600 Callaway AI driver by 20+ yards

Too many questions with the new clubs. Questions about standing distance from ball etc……. BUT….like the manual says …… Practice teaches you every thing you need to know.

2 days at the range recording every shot and then back at home to analyze the data gave me a chart to know exactly which club to grab

There is only 1 swing and ball position - Yahoooooo - my life is simple now

My back thanks you too and that was the main need.

21 days and I like them

I purchased the Blackstone iron set 3-PW in early Sept, there was an error with the clubs I received so I contacted them and they immediately acknowledged the error, took responsibility for the error and shipped out another set NIB the next day. So the customer service was great, sometimes things happen and it was taken care of. I’ve played 27 holes with my new Blackstones and I like them, they immediately made a difference. It takes more than 27 holes to readjust and master my new swing (with all irons being identical weight and length) but the concept of a his design quickly made a difference in my consistency and eliminated two ugly shots per round. With some more practice, which gold requires regardless of your clubs, I am confident I will enjoy these clubs for years and drop at least 6-7 strokes off my game within 3 months and probably a couple more as time goes on. And I’ve received many compliments on how striking these clubs look.
Updated review. I’ve played 63 holes with these clubs, they have made a significant difference in my game. Mishits are 90% improves, swing confidence is higher, smash factor is very high.

Blown away by the quality, best irons for tall golfers

I'm just over 6'4 and got the 39" 11 club set 19 degree to 59 degree. They are the perfect length and feel great. I played my variable length irons at 1.25" longer than standard, so for me these irons ended up being the same length as my 5 iron. Tall golfers should not hesitate to use single length irons.

Used Blackstone

I bought “Demo” 1Iron clubs in 2011 and used them continuously until 2024. They arrived unmarked and still look like new despite heavy use. I have often extolled the virtues and quality of the clubs. In comparison with my Blackstone Demo” purchase I am disappointed. The company service still remains very professional but the chip and scratch damage on 7 of the 11 clubs detracted from the enjoyment. Most marks seem to have been “Black marker pen” fix but several deep scratches to base metal left. Yes, the risk of saving on purchasing “Demo”clubs. I ignored my intuition that the anodising may be easily damaged and doubt now they could give the service I enjoyed with my previous set.

I am an average golfer from Whites.. low to mid 90’s. The first time I played with them I hit the high and longer then ever. I love the feel and balance of the clubs. I still have work to do on my swing but the clubs are everything you advertised… the 3rd time I played I Cut 8 shots off my normal scores and now in the low to mid 80’s. Very happy that I purchased them
