Not for me

I freaky liked the idea of all the clubs the same length. Unfortunately it's not for me. I lost 10 yards of distance on just about all irons.

The wedges are longer and proved to be a difficult adjustment.

Grips are firm and are too hard to provide a soft feel.

I wish I hadn't bought the demos because I'd return them in a heartbeat.

Hi! Thanks for the review. Yes, it is understandable that you lost yardage with our irons unless you compare the actual loft angle to what you were using to the loft angle of our irons. Almost all manufacturers have strengthened the loft angle on their irons by 1 club, we have not done this. Read the following article I wrote specifically on this, The Truth About Loft Angles: https://1irongolf.com/pages/the-truth-about-golf-club-loft-angles - which will give you a much better understanding. You can see all our loft angles for each line on our Irons Page --> https://1irongolf.com/pages/single-length-irons

Used / Demo Pro-Line Irons

Received my Used / Demo Pro-Line Irons in excellent condition (they look brand new). I'm enjoying the half-club gain in distance over my prior set of 1 Irons. Thanks David!

Simplifies the game for a high handicapper

Left handed. Bought the used/demo versions, but they looked brand new! No scratches, tee marks, ball marks. Clubs even came with my favorite grips (Lamkin oversized) without me even making a grip selection. Grips smelled brand new also. This is the first set of clubs I’ve bought that haven’t been used for years and years, so I can’t fairly compare them to today’s top brands, but quality of the clubs definitely exceeded expectations in my eyes. 5 stars for quality and functionality as advertised.

While there’s no magic fix for any golfer, these single-length irons have helped me immensely while perfecting my swing. Been using these clubs for a month now. Consistent ball placement and address simplifies the game, letting me focus on just swinging the club. I feel a lot more confident when I address the ball.

7-9 iron distances are consistent with what I was hitting with my old clubs. Could never hit my old 5/6 irons, but the single length shafts have already helped me get a handle on mid iron shots. Hitting those about as far as I think I would if I had ever hit a straight 5/6 with my old clubs. PW is my favorite in the set—more loft (due to the longer shaft) than my traditional PW has helped me stick shots on the green easier.

I will say that I thought I’d hit long irons better with the shorter shaft, but this has not been the case yet. However, the single length shafts have helped me be more consistent with working on my swing path, which I think will improve my 3/4 iron shots in the long run

Loved the clubs, very consistent. The distance between clubs was also consistent. Still working on the longer irons, but getting better. I would recommend these clubs.

Best Irons Ever…

Flat out the best Irons I have ever played. I hit them as far as my old Taylormade P790 variable length, just much more consistently. I really enjoy the longer, lighter wedges as well which was something I wasn’t sure I would enjoy. I played the regular line last year and switched to the proline this year, definitely a hot rod option, they feel much more performance oriented for a higher swing speed. Original line would be great for average swingers, I swing quick but am iffy on strike, making a performance single length iron the best option. I can also say I tried Cobras at a local shop and one irons feel much better to me.

Awesome clubs, great fit and already see the difference in consistency!

This turned out well

I was never able to wrap my head around the different shaft lengths in irons so I went with the 1Iron after a friend recommended them to me.
I ordered the Demo irons to save some money and the clubs arrived in original packaging, well padded.
No marks, scratches or any other signs of usage could be found.
My first 18 I played, I broke 60 on the front 9 (55) and I have not yet broken 60 until this past round.
My shots felt controlled and clean and the same length in all irons definitely has improved my iron game.
I’m only in my 4th year of playing golf, so I think that’s a pretty good statement.
I can highly recommend taking the different shot setups for each iron out of
the equation and go to single length.

Getting used to single length irons.

I've only played 27 holes with the new irons (three through SW). My iron play, regardless of whose clubs I'm using, is a lot dependent on the operator, me. So far I'm liking the results with the new irons when I make good swings. The only issue I have is I'm struggling a bit with chipping with these longer-shafted short irons, but I expect I'll figure that out with practice, which I haven't done -- the clubs went straight from the box to the course. I did see there is plenty of info on the web site about using these clubs, so I'll go back there for help. After only 27 holes I'd give a definite thumbs up for making the switch. [Note: When I'm asked for reviews I don't as a matter of personal practice give the very best rating, which should not be construed to mean there is something wrong. However, if I was asked to rate the customer service, it would be five stars.]

    Custom Fitting Single Length Irons

All human beings share the same skeletal, muscle, tendon, and joint functions and from a mechanical standpoint are the same regardless of height or sex. Non-mechanical differences arise in custom fitting however, for instance: the height of a bicycle seat needs to be greater for a taller person than a shorter person even though the mechanical design of the bicycle remains the same. By the same token, there is only one true fitting variable in the building of golf clubs and that is club length. Based on your wrist-to-floor measurement, we adjust your club length to correspond to our clubheads' lie angle to ensure a proper fitting.

    Wrist-to-Floor MeasurementTaking your Wrist-to-Floor Measurement:
    • The wrist-to-floor measurement should be taken while standing on a hard surface.
    • Wear jogging/gym shoes (not golf shoes) not in excess of 1.5" sole.
    • Stand with your back against the wall at strict military attention. Place your shoulders and head against the wall, your feet together, and your arms rigid and straight down at your sides.
    • Hold a pencil in your right hand (right handed golfer). Back your arms against the wall and then take the pencil and make a mark where your left wrist joint hits the wall. Just the opposite for a left-handed golfer.
    • Measure from this mark to the floor.
    • Important: Do not round-up the measurement to the next higher inch increment. For instance, if your measurement is 34 and 7/8″, do not round up to 35″.

    One Iron Golf Club Lengths

One Iron Golf Club Lengths - Wrist to Floor Measurements

    Very Important:

Do not order based upon what you consider to be your favorite iron (ie: #7 iron), and do not use that corresponding wrist-to-floor measurement when placing your order. When ordering you need to specify your actual wrist-to-floor measurement to ensure a proper fitting. This chart reflects club length based upon our club-head lie angles. Consequently, our fitting process does not apply to any other brand.

For the taller golfer:  based upon your wrist-to-floor measurement you may be concerned that your irons would be a typical #3 or #4 iron club length; however, do not compare your measurement to your current #3 or #4 iron. The lie angles of your “long” irons are much flatter than ours which, at your size, requires you to bend over excessively and reach out for the ball at address. The club head lie angle of our irons is 63.5º which is far more upright and allows you, for the first time, to stand upright and much closer to the ball at address resulting in the ideal upright swing posture and swing plane. The taller golfer benefits the most from our fitting formula since they have never played golf clubs that have even come close to fitting them properly. The result being that they have had to develop a very inefficient posture and swing where they are bent over excessively and reaching way out for the ball with every iron in the bag.

How Does the Wrist-to-Floor Measurement Work?

It is based upon trigonometry. At the point of ball impact in the downswing, your wrist, the ground, and the club-head, form a right triangle. Assuming an ideal swing posture, there is a non-linear mathematical relationship between your wrist-to-floor measurement while standing at attention and your wrist-to-ground distance at ball impact.

The club-head lie angles are known for the irons and fairway woods as well as the length of one side of the right triangle based upon your mathematically factored wrist-to-ground distance at impact. This gives us the measurement of two angles and the length of one side. We then use trigonometry to solve for the hypotenuse or club length. This is somewhat oversimplified as we factor in shaft deflection and numerous other factors. The fitting formula that we developed produces the ideal golf club length for anyone regardless of height or arm length.
